Active kids for a better future

Adnan Menderes Primary School is a public school situated in Melikgazi, in Kayseri that offers free education at preschool and primary level. The school employs 52 teachers and 4 administrative staff.
It was built by Kadir Has Foundation in 2007-2008 and started teaching activities. There are library, management rooms and 22 classrooms. We have a total of 1291 students aged 5-10 in our school.
We want students to gain a good and positive communication with all people and become aware of the problems of their environment. We want them to look at issues in a versatile and neutral way, to gain the important skills of the age. It is our vision to help our students to be a role model people for all people. We want to implement this project to improve our staff and to progress our institution to international standards. Our teachers (16) are members of eTwinning. Our students and teachers participate actively in the projects we have on eTwinning. We have never participated in any Erasmus plus projects before. Our teachers are eager to innovate and share their knowledge with other colleagues. Because of the globalisation and changing world, the problems around us have multiplied and our children have become insensitive to these problems. In this project we want to find solutions to common problems in our schools and other schools with the help of good examples. We want to encourage our students to be active citizens. Our aim is to improve the quality of education in our school and to be sensitive to the problems surrounding us not only concerning people but also environmental problems like climate change and global warming. We want to emphasize the importance of equality, human rights and environmental sensitivity. We want to have a sensible and solution-oriented view towards all kinds of problems. Thanks to the project, we will increase the interest of our students in foreign languages and improve their communication skills. Our aim is to show our students the importance of cooperation on international level. We want to see the beautiful
examples in other countries ‘ education systems and integrate them in our school and share ours. We want to advance our friendship that we have with our etwinning project and share good examples with different cultures.
