Four main topics were addressed:
poverty and homelessness; renewable energy sources; recycle; people with disabilities and refugees.
Workshops, debates, documentary visits and exchanges of experience were organized.
On the first day, after the opening ceremony and the presentation of the school, a presentation was organized followed by a debate on how the students of the host school are aware of the problems of poverty and homelessness. A documentary visit was made to the social dinner led by the Daughters of Charity where students and school staff volunteer. The next day was dedicated to renewable energy sources and a workshop was organized in which participants were taught how to make a solar oven with their students. The third day was dedicated to the environment, especially how students can contribute by recycling waste. An exhibition of recyclable toys made by students was organized and a skit was presented in which the children were actors and directors. This was followed by a day dedicated to renewable energy and a documentary visit to Tabernas Solar Station, a solar station open to the public where students come and find out how solar energy can be used. The last day was the day of people with special needs, a workshop was organized in which it was presented how students are aware of the difficulties and obstacles that people with disabilities have. Prior to the award ceremony, a Braille book written by a visually impaired student from the host school was presented.
As a result of these activities, a solar oven, a Braille book, an eBook were made. In the workshops, the participants learned how to transmit to students the feelings and way of life of people with disabilities, how they will determine students to change the way they act on recycling and the use of renewable resources.
